Call for local Lewisham Artists
Tideway has issued a call for local artists to apply for an opportunity to create a large-scale piece of art for hoarding around the Deptford Church Street site in Lewisham with local children. The collaborative project will involve a series of workshops with a group of pupils from St Joseph’s RC Primary School, which will take on the theme of ‘identity’.
Tideway welcomes applications from artists working in all disciplines, though given the nature of commission, experience of working with schools or community groups is a requirement. Tideway especially encourages applications from artists based in Lewisham or with a good knowledge of the Deptford area and its community. The successful artist will need to hold an enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one) and be available to start as soon as possible.
The deadline for applications is midday on 5 February 2017.
