About Me

I was elected as one of the three Labour Councillors for Telegraph Hill on May 6th, 2010. I currently work for UNISON and I am an elected rep for GMB, a member of Unite and a board director for Lewisham Homes, as well as recently serving as a member of the Executive Committee of the Labour Research Department. 

I was brought up on a council estate and studied Politics & Religious Studies at Lancaster University. in the past I have been a school governor and a trustee of a Citizens Advice Bureau.

I consider myself to be a Christian, but I believe in a secular society; a vegetarian and a socialist. Politically I am closer to Tony Benn.
