Housing has been my preoccupation this morning, visiting constituents on St Asaph's Road and now formulating a plan of action to rectify their problems with Lewisham Homes. Then onto the Silkworks development with Joan Millbank to talk about the Reservoir Road development on Jerningham Road. I am on a planning committee so I can't post a comment on it, just in case it comes to my committee, (there are three plus one strategic). Tomorrow is the Telegraph Hill Branch Labour Thank You Party; a little late but a chance to catch-up and get the views of the branch in a social context in relation to the cuts being proposed. I will write more about cuts in future postings. But at this stage, I have suggested to the UNISON branch to write an alternative budget and this can then be taken up by councillors with similar views to me.
The council will now be quieter until September. Chance to formulate plans and consult with residents. This coming year will not be easy; I hope that agreement can be reached...there are difficult times ahead.
