Back at work today after a long weekend of campaigning. This weekend, I was out on Jerningham Road, Waller Road, the Kender Estate listening to people's concerns and reporting broken pavements.
However, the most memorable contact was a chap on Waller Road who told us that we were only out at election time. I had to count to 10, as I have been out along with the Joan and Dan every weekend since July 2009, excluding time off over Christmas and Easter Day!
I know politicians are not regarded too highly in some people's minds, but when you have not had a weekend life for over nine months because of a desire to give something to your community and campaign a clean, safe and happy neighbourhood, a little acknowledgement of that would have been better than an Easter Egg! Actually, no chcolate is king!
